The Vision
Build an 18 mile plus volunteer member maintained hiking, riding, and jogging trail along the banks of harrods Creek from Prospect, KY Northeast to laGrange and old Sligo Road (KY 3223)
where it could join the dedicated trails in the L'Esprit equine development. Ultimately it could join the Oldham County Horse Park on KY 524.
This path would be generally on forested land which is too steep to develop, or is subject to flooding, which is along the scenic Harrods Creek Valley. Join now and participate in planning, building and acquiring easements for this path from land owners.
Introductory "working hikes" and rides are planned during each month in 2006.
The model for this trail is The Appalachian Trail, which is a volunteer maintained 2000 mile path form Maine to Georgia.
