The model for this trail is the Appalachian Trail is which is a 2100 mile volunteer maintained Trail from Maine to Georgia in the Eastern U.S.

The Vision
Build an 18 mile plus volunteer member maintained hiking, riding, and jogging trail along the banks of harrods Creek from Prospect, KY Northeast to laGrange and old Sligo Road (KY 3223)
where it could join the dedicated trails in the L'Esprit equine development. Ultimately it could join the Oldham County Horse Park on KY 524.
This path would be generally on forested land which is too steep to develop, or is subject to flooding, which is along the scenic Harrods Creek Valley. Join now and participate in planning, building and acquiring easements for this path from land owners.
Introductory "working hikes" and rides are planned during each month in 2006.
The model for this trail is The Appalachian Trail, which is a volunteer maintained 2000 mile path form Maine to Georgia.

News for Members and Welcome to New Members:                                            

2010 Has been a big year for Harrods Creek Trail Association and there is more to come this fall and winter. With this letter we are enclosing a 2011 renewal and membership application and an invitation to participate in scheduled hikes for the fall and winter with tentative dates selected for 2011.

Sunday November 28, 1:30 PM  First Event is Post Thanksgiving Work off the turkey stuffing  by helping on and trail maintenance 1 mile hike.  Gather at 3741 Locke Lane (Gordon & Lori Dabney’s home) last home on Locke before Hwy 329. Bring briar clippers, rake, hoe and/ or gloves, water bottle or apple or candy bar snack. We have some grub hoes and mattocks.  Also bring  a stadium chair and /or grill for cook out where we will have complimentary hotdogs, burgers and cider or soft drinks following the hike around the bonfire.  Children and youthful labor is welcome all must have parents sign liability releases  similar to membership releases.  We will have annual meeting and elect new officers for 2011 around the bonfire or we have grub hoes and mattocks.
